Ithaca Murals is a network of people transforming gray walls into beautiful, meaningful works of art that tell the stories of the diverse people who live here. We implement a cultural arts strategy for building our community stronger. We welcome everyone to be involved with Ithaca Murals while prioritizing the leadership of people of color, under-employed and working class people, people with jail experience, women, LGBTQ+ community members, youth, and anyone who is passionate about justice.
Ithaca Murals offers this opportunity to 2-3 Federal Work-Study awarded Cornell financial-aid students to give them experience learning from and supporting people’s wellbeing in the larger Ithaca area. Learn more about Ithaca Murals at ithacamurals.com
Ongoing tasks
- providing logistical support for muralists,
- maintaining the muralist paint and tool lending library,
- promoting art as a tool for social change,
- designing event and organization materials,
- developing the website and interactive app,
- fundraising and developing a marketing strategy
- collaborating with other local social justice organizations

Required Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
Successful applicants are creative thinkers, enjoy working with others, have dedication for undoing racism and other injustices, and have endurance for engaging in systemic change. Also, students need to be able to meet downtown.
